Rules of the game

Lotto Max

Rules of the game

LOTTO MAX is governed by the RULES AND REGULATIONS RESPECTING LOTTERIES AND LOTTERY TICKETS of the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation ("ILC") which include limitations of liability.

Each play is comprised of three selections. Each selection is composed of seven numbers from 1 to 50.

You may buy a lottery ticket either through an entirely online transaction or by way of generating a bar code online which will enable a Loto-Québec retailer to register your play(s) and issue a lottery ticket indicating, among other things, the name of the game, the draw date(s), the play(s), the amount wagered and a control number. In the latter case, once the ticket has been issued, verify the information on your ticket and sign it. A purchase transaction is only concluded when it results in the registration of one or more play(s) in Loto-Québec's central computer system. In any case, ONLY PLAYS REGISTERED BY LOTO-QUÉBEC'S CENTRAL COMPUTER SYSTEM PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME.

On each draw date, or as soon as possible after that date, ILC will cause seven main numbers and one bonus number to be drawn at random among all numbers from 1 to 50.

Winning selections as a result of a draw are determined as follows:

  • 3/7: 3 of the main numbers
  • 3/7+B: 3 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 4/7: 4 of the main numbers
  • 4/7+B: 4 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 5/7: 5 of the main numbers
  • 5/7+B: 5 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 6/7: 6 of the main numbers
  • 6/7+B: 6 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 7/7: the 7 main numbers

ILC determines, from time to time, a prize structure. The amount of each prize as a result of a draw is calculated in accordance with the prize structure in force. Only one prize per winning selection.

All free plays won following an online purchase are automatically issued for the draw following the one for which they were won.

A change will be made to Lotto Max starting with the September 10, 2024, draw.

The maximum jackpot is $70,000,000. Maxmillions (prizes of $1,000,000) are offered when the jackpot reaches $50,000,000. Notably, when the amount of the 7/7 pool for any given draw exceeds $50,000,000, it shall be capped at an amount set between $50,000,000 and $70,000,000 inclusive (the “7/7 pool cap”), and the excess is divided into additional prizes of $1,000,000 (Maxmillions). The difference is added to the 6/7+B pool.

For example: The advertised jackpot (the 7/7 pool cap) is set at $50,000,000. If the 7/7 pool reaches $52,214,000, on top of the $50,000,000 jackpot, two Maxmillions will be drawn. The remaining amount of $214,000 would be added to the 6/7+B pool.

Additional selections drawn for Maxmillions prizes are not decomposable and each prize is shared amongst the winners.

Lotto 6/49

LOTTO 6/49 is governed by the RULES AND REGULATIONS RESPECTING LOTTERIES AND LOTTERY TICKETS of the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation ("ILC"), which include limitations of liability.

Each play is composed of one selection of six numbers from 1 to 49 (the “Classic Selection”) and one “Gold Ball Draw Number”.

Each Gold Ball Draw Number is a unique computer-generated 10-digit number (XXXXXXXX-XX).

For the Gold Ball Draw Number(s), a segmented group of numbers is assigned to each of the five Canadian lottery corporations. In addition, these numbers are issued in sequence. For example, when a lottery ticket is composed of several plays, the first eight digits of the number remain the same, and the last two digits range from 01 to the number of plays purchased (67890123-01, 67890123-02, 67890123-03, etc.).

When a lottery ticket is composed of three or more Lotto 6/49 plays, the Gold Ball Draw Numbers are shown as a range. For example, if you buy 10 Lotto 6/49 plays on the same lottery ticket, you will get 10 Classic Selections and 10 Gold Ball Draw Numbers, which will be indicated on your lottery ticket as follows:
DE : 67890123-01
À : 67890123-10

You may buy a lottery ticket either through an entirely online transaction or by way of generating a bar code online, which will enable a Loto-Québec retailer to register your play(s) and issue a lottery ticket indicating, among other things, the name of the game(s), the draw date(s), the Classic Selection(s), the Gold Ball Draw Number(s), the amount wagered and a control number. Once the ticket has been issued, verify the information on your ticket and sign it. A purchase transaction is only concluded when it results in the registration of one or more play(s) in Loto-Québec’s central computer system. In any case, ONLY PLAYS REGISTERED BY LOTO-QUÉBEC’S CENTRAL COMPUTER SYSTEM PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME.

On each draw date, or as soon as possible after that date, the ILC will cause six numbers and one bonus number to be drawn at random from among all numbers from 1 to 49 (“Classic Draw”). Furthermore, one Gold Ball Draw Number is drawn at random from among all those that have been issued for that draw (“Gold Ball Draw”). This number allows a participant to win either the Gold Ball Jackpot or a $1,000,000 prize. The value of this prize is determined by the “Gold Ball Jackpot Draw.” If a white ball is drawn, the prize won is $1,000,000, and that ball is withdrawn from subsequent Gold Ball Jackpot Draws until the Gold Ball is drawn. If the Gold Ball is not drawn, the Gold Ball Jackpot increases in the next draw by an amount determined by the ILC. When the Gold Ball is drawn, 29 white balls, each corresponding to a $1,000,000 prize, and one Gold Ball will be available in the next Gold Ball Draw, and the preceding process will be repeated.

Winning selections as a result of a draw are determined as follows:

CLASSIC DRAW

  • 2/6: 2 of the main numbers
  • 2/6+B: 2 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 3/6: 3 of the main numbers
  • 4/6: 4 of the main numbers
  • 5/6: 5 of the main numbers
  • 5/6+B: 5 of the main numbers and the bonus number
  • 6/6: all 6 main numbers

GOLD BALL DRAW

  • The complete number (10 digits)

A winning Gold Ball Draw Number is one whose number is identical to the Gold Ball Draw Number drawn.

The amount of each prize, as a result of a draw, is calculated in accordance with the prize structure then in force.

Only one prize per winning selection. All free plays won following an online purchase are automatically issued for the draw following the one for which they were won.

Tout ou rien

Rules of the game

TOUT OU RIEN is governed by the BY-LAW RESPECTING FORECAST CONTESTS AND NUMBERS GAMES, published in the GAZETTE OFFICIELLE DU QUÉBEC, which includes limitations of liability.
Tout ou rien offers the chance to win the grand prize with all or none of the numbers of the winning selection. Other prizes are also offered.

Each selection is composed of 12 numbers from 1 to 24.

You may make your transaction entirely online or generate a bar code which will enable a Loto-Québec retailer to register your selection(s) and issue a lottery ticket indicating, among other things, the name of the game, the draw date(s), the selection(s), the amount wagered and a control number. In the latter case, once the ticket has been issued, verify the information on your ticket and sign it. A purchase transaction is only concluded when it results in the registration of one or more selection(s) in Loto-Québec’s central computer system. In any case, ONLY SELECTIONS REGISTERED BY LOTO-QUÉBEC'S CENTRAL COMPUTER SYSTEM PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME.

On each draw date or as soon as possible after that date, Loto-Québec will cause 12 numbers to be drawn at random among all numbers from 1 to 24 using an electronic ball machine with a random number generator.

To be a winning selection, out of the 12 numbers drawn, the selection must include the number indicated in the "Category" column of the prize structure below. Only one prize per winning selection.

Decomposable Regular numbers
During each episode of La Poule aux œufs d’or (which airs Sundays at 5:30 p.m.), three winning six-digit numbers will be selected from 0 to 9, as determined in the Jeu des roulettes game. These numbers are decomposable in both directions.

    • LOTTO MAX: one or more plays, each comprising 3 selections of 7 numbers and costing $5
    • QUÉBEC MAX: one or more plays, each comprising 3 selections of 7 numbers and costing $2

Details of the annuity

The winner who wishes to take advantage of the annuity must be a resident of Québec aged 18 or older. The winner will receive $1,000 a week for life, i.e. until his or her death. However, instead of the annuity, the winner may choose a non-taxable lump sum of $1,000,000.

Regarding the annuity, it is an amount of $1,000 net of taxes, which will be paid on a weekly basis. A designated insurance company will be responsible for administering and paying out the annuity.

In the event the winner dies within the first 20 years after the prize claim date, the annuity is transferrable to the winner’s legal heirs, who will receive the same annuity, paid at the same frequency for the balance of the 20 years that have not elapsed. If the winner is 71 years of age or older at the time the prize is claimed, the minimum payment period is shorter. In this case, the winner will be entitled to the annuity income. In the event of his death, the legal heirs will be entitled to the annuity income only until the date that would have been the winner’s 91st birthday, had he survived (Canada’s Income Tax Act).

In the event the winner dies before notifying Loto-Québec of his or her decision regarding the choice between the lump sum and the annuity, the winner’s legal heirs will be entitled to the lump sum.

Press GO to spin the wheel. On the wheel, the inner ring show the number of Free Plays (5, 10, 15 or 20) and the outer ring shows the Multiplier Amount (x1, x2, x3 or x4).

That number of Free Plays then plays out on the main game board. Any prizes won during those Free Plays are then multiplied by the Multiplier Amount at the end of the Free Plays.

  • The price of a play is indicated at the top of the screen.

How to play

  • Click on PLAY and the symbols will fall into place on the 5x3 game board. At the same time the Multiplier Wheel will spin.
  • If a winning pattern is revealed on the 5x3 board:
  • Those symbols are destroyed

  • If the new symbols that get added to the 5x3 board lead to a new winning pattern, the process continues until no winning patterns are present.
  • Each time PLAY is pressed the Multiplier Wheel at the top of the board will spin before stopping on a multiplier amount or CARD BONUS symbol (see CARD BONUS GAME section below for what happens when wheel stops on CARD BONUS symbol)
  • Once no winning patterns are present, the multiplier amount that the Multiplier Wheel has stopped on gets applied to any wins on the 5x3 board for that round.
  • If there are no winning patterns revealed on the 5x3 board in a round, the multiplier amount on the Multiplier Wheel is not applied to anything.
  • The multiplier amount on the Multiplier Wheel is only applied to winning patterns on the 5x3 board. It is not applied to the BONUS GAME or CARD BONUS GAME.
  • Each time PLAY is pressed, and a new game round starts the Multiplier Wheel resets/spins again.
  • At the end of the game, all winnings, if any, will be paid into your Espacejeux account.

START OF THE GAME

Select the play amount, then press PLAY or press the Space bar on your keyboard to purchase the ticket and start the game.

Once the PLAY button has been selected, the stake is deducted from the current balance and the game starts.

END OF THE GAME

At the end of the game, any winnings for that go are displayed in the TOTAL WON panel.

To play again press the PLAY button or press the Space bar on your keyboard.

WINNING PATTERNS

Finding 3 or more identical symbols (from the Prize Chart) that share a horizontal or vertical face creates a winning pattern (diagonals do not count).

Only the highest prize won on each cluster will be paid.

PRIZE CHART

The Prize Chart can be viewed by pressing the PRIZE CHART button to the side of the game board.

Prizes shown in the Prize Chart are the multiple of amount staked.

Only the highest prize won on each cluster will be paid.

BONUS GAME

Finding 3 Bonus Game symbols on one game board activates the BONUS Game.

The BONUS GAME starts with a grid of 15 non-winning gold blocks and 3 GOES on the counter.

Each time GO is pressed a new set of blocks drops onto the game board and the number of GOES reduces by 1 (if AUTO PLAY is pressed the GOES will happen automatically after each other).

Blocks that enter the board can either be non-winning gold blocks (e.g., Diamond Symbols) or Multiplier blocks (e.g., 1X Multiplier Diamond Symbols).

If any Multiplier blocks are revealed, they stick in that position on the game board and the number of GOES resets to 3. Irrespective of the quantity of Multiplier blocks revealed in a single GO, the GOES will always reset to 3.

On the next GO, new blocks will enter the board filling the spaces vacated by dropping non-winning blocks from the previous GO. Multiplier blocks from the previous GO remain on the board in the same position.

The game continues until the GOES counter gets to 0 (which occurs after 3 drops in a row with no new Multiplier blocks added in those drops) or when the entire board is filled with Multiplier blocks.

At the end of the game, any Multiplier blocks are added together to the TOTAL MULTIPLIER (e.g., if there are 3 different Multipliers on the board at the end of the game with values x1, x2 and x5 the TOTAL MULTIPLIER will x8).

The PLAY AMOUNT is multiplied by the TOTAL MULTIPLIER, and this is the prize awarded. The bonus game then ends.

CARD BONUS GAME

If the Multiplier Wheel stops on the Crown Symbol, the CARD BONUS game is activated.

3 faces down cards are shown. Pick one card to reveal a prize amount which is then awarded. The CARD BONUS Game then ends.

PAYOFF RATE

This game has theoretical payoff rate of 88.0%.

First spin a wheel to determine the number of FREE PLAYS awarded. The wheel will stop and highlight on either 5, 10 or 15 FREE PLAYS.

The game then returns to a grid of 12 face down cards. FREE PLAYS will always start with 12 face down cards, irrespective of the grid size at the point FREE PLAYS are unlocked.

The number of FREE PLAYS awarded will then play out automatically. Any JOKERS revealed during FREE PLAYS will expand the board and then that expanded board will remain in place for the remaining duration of the FREE PLAYS rounds (FREE PLAYS cards cannot be revealed during the FREE PLAYS rounds).

Once all the FREE PLAYS rounds have played out, the FREE PLAYS WINNINGS are awarded and FREE PLAYS ends. Once PLAY is pressed at the end of the FREE PLAYS the game resets to a grid of 12 face down cards and next game starts.
